Question 4 - Language: Level D Practice Test for the TABE Test

Which of these sentences would best replace the bold sentence in the provided passage?

Diabetes mellitus, or simply diabetes as it is generally known, is a disease affecting nearly four million people in the United States. This disease occurs either when the pancreas stops producing enough insulin for the body, known as type 1 diabetes, or when the body cannot properly deal with the insulin produced, called type 2. A third form of diabetes is gestational diabetes, which occurs in pregnant women. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of the disease, making up 90% of diabetics. This type is largely related to unhealthy lifestyles and can be reversed with proper diet and exercise. Type 1 diabetes often presents itself during childhood. Gestational diabetes often goes away after the pregnancy has concluded.
