Question 7 - Reading: Level E Practice Test for the TABE Test

According to the text provided, is there water on Mars?

People have been interested in the night sky for a long time. The red planet, Mars, has been of particular interest. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. It is the second-smallest planet in our solar system. Mars is made of rock. It looks red because of the iron oxide (rust) in the rocks and dust.

From what scientists can tell, Mars does not have any liquid water on its surface. They have found water and carbon dioxide frozen in the ice on Mars’ north and south poles. This means that Mars could possibly support human life, but its atmosphere is very thin. Temperatures on Mars are colder than on Earth because it is farther away from the Sun.

Mars has the largest volcano in the solar system. It also has two small moons that orbit it.
