Flashcard 13 - Reading Flashcard Set for the TABE Test

Back

a comparison drawn between two (often seemingly unrelated) things

Explanation:

An analogy is a parallel drawn between two things, usually for the purpose of explaining or clarifying an idea. A commonly used analogy is that of life and a box of chocolates: “you never know what you’re gonna get.” Metaphors and similes are tools used by authors to draw an analogy for the reader.
