The product of numbers with opposite signs will always be negative. The product of numbers with the same signs will always be positive.
If the numbers have opposite signs: \((-3) \cdot 13 = -39\) and \(3 \cdot (-13) = -39\) If both numbers have negative signs: \((-3) \cdot (-13) = 39\) If both numbers have positive signs: \(3 \cdot 13 = 39\)
