How should patients take their nitroglycerin sublingual tablet?
Swallow the tablet whole.
Chew until the patient feels a slight tingling sensation, then stop chewing and park the tablet between your cheek and gum.
Chew the tablet and then allow it to dissolve before swallowing.
Place tablet under the tongue and do not eat, drink, or smoke while the tablet is dissolving.
