Explanation:
Parallel box plots are representations of data parallel to the y-axis. A parallel box plot is made up of two lines and two adjacent boxes. The smallest value is at the bottom end of the first line; the largest value is at the tip of the second line. The bases of the boxes represent the values of the quartiles, and the second base is the second quartile or median. There can be two or more parallel box plots sharing one y-axis. Parallel box plots may also be plotted horizontally and are sometimes referred to as box and whisker plots
