What is the difference between $$f(x) = x^2 + 2$$ and $$g(x) = 4x^2 + 2$$?

Accepted Answer

The rate of change of *g(x)* is 4 times that of *f(x)*. When graphed they will start at the same vertex but the spread of *g(x)* will be narrower and its curve steeper.
