Flashcard 6 - Science Flashcard Set for the HiSET Test

Back

Cellular respiration is the process where a cell consumes glucose and oxygen and produces energy-carrying molecules and carbon dioxide.

Explanation:

The energy-carrying molecules go on to power the functioning of the cell in all organisms. Cellular respiration also occurs in plant cells. While plants are noted for producing sugars and oxygen during photosynthesis, the cells also consume these substances in respiration.
