The term exact area means you should not use \(3.14\) for \(\pi\), but just use the \(\pi\) symbol, instead.
The formula for the area of a circle is \(A = \pi {r^2}\) and \(r\) is half the diameter. (This formula is on the formula chart.)
Thus, the area of this circle is: \(A = \pi {\left( {\frac{{24}}{2}} \right)^2} = \pi \left( {{{12}^2}} \right) = 144\pi\) The units are square inches.
