Create a file off the root filesystem called forcefsck.
As the system reboots, if there is an entry under root called /forcefsck, the system will run fsck on the filesystem. After the system boots, the /forcefsck entered will be automatically deleted. To create the /forcefsck file, enter sudo touch /forcefsck. Be familiar with the fsck command as well as the touch command.
sudo touch /forcefsck
