All functions can be graphed by setting up an input, output table.    
Use the table to keep track of coordinate points, $$(x,f(x))$$.    
Plot the points in the *xy*-plane to construct a graph.    
If every *x*-value has only one $$f(x)$$ value (passes the vertical line test), then the expression is a function.
