improper fraction

If we have a fraction of the form \(\frac{a}{b}\), it is known as a proper fraction if \(a<b\) and an improper fraction when \(a > b\).

For example, \(\frac{3}{2}\) is an improper fraction because \(3>2\),
while \(\frac{1}{4}\) is a proper fraction since \(1<4\).
