An equation is a mathematical statement that shows the equality of two expressions. They are connected by an \(=\) sign. For example, \(2y = 4x + 4\).
An inequality shows a relationship between two expressions where one is greater than (greater than or equal to) or less than (less than or equal to) the other. For example, \(y > 3x - 3\).
