If two angles add up to \(180^{\circ}\), they are called supplementary angles. For example, the angles \(140^{\circ}\) and \(40^{\circ}\) are supplementary angles because their sum is \(180^{\circ}\) (\(140^{\circ} + 40^{\circ} =180^{\circ}\)).

Note: Complementary angles are two angles that add up to \(90^{\circ}\).
