Explanation:

Active reading requires the readers to do more than hold a book or piece of writing and allow their eyes to move across the page. Active reading means the readers are engaging with the text, taking notes, asking questions of it, making connections to it, identifying key terms within it, etc. Active reading helps readers retain a better understanding of what they read than passive reading.
