Explanation:

When an author wants to elicit a certain emotional reaction from the audience, he or she will use emotional appeals to tug at the audience’s heartstrings or tap into anger or frustration. Emotional appeals come in a wide variety of feelings, but whether they move the audience to pity or to anger or to disgust, the point is that the audience has felt something in response to the author’s written word and been emotionally moved by it.
