The \(y\) axis is the line running vertically on the left-hand side of the graph, while the \(x\) axis is the line running horizontally along the bottom of the chart.
Being familiar with the various types of graphs and charts, as well as their defining features, will allow you to read and interpret the data presented in a more efficient fashion.
