Divide it into two sentences.

Explanation:

As a general rule, the presence of more than one and in a sentence is a sign of a run-on sentence. One effective change would be to separate it into two sentences:

“Somehow, when Jaime received her diploma, she neglected to check it for correct spelling. She later discovered that her name was spelled wrong, and her new boss would not accept it as proof that she had graduated.”
