Note that there is a difference between persuasive and argumentative writing in that argumentative is required only to present a position with regard to a controversial topic and the author to make the audience consider its validity as a position. Argumentative writing does not require that the author convince the reader to share the same position—that’s persuasive writing’s responsibility.
