The Apgar scale is a way to measure an infant’s physical condition at birth.
Explanation:
The Apgar scale assess how well an infant is breathing and responding to stimuli at birth. The assessment is performed immediately following birth and again after 5 minutes. The first score determines how well the baby tolerated the birthing process. The second score determines how well the baby is doing outside of the mother’s womb. A perfect Apgar score is a 10.
