Laws are legally enforceable regulations established by the government. Ethics are a person’s values, morals, and sense of right and wrong. Laws may be in direct opposition to someone’s ethics; for example, abortion is legal although some people morally oppose it. People have different ethics, but everyone in the community is expected to follow the laws.
