Flashcard 9 - Math Flashcard Set for the SHSAT
Back
mean, median, and mode
Explanation:
Measures of central tendency are statistical measures that describe where the center of a data set lies.
The mean, or average, is calculated by summing all values and dividing by the number of values.
The median is the middle value when data is ordered from least to greatest; if there are an even number of values, it’s the average of the two middle values.
The mode is the value that appears most frequently in the data set.
