To reduce fractions:
Divide both the numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor.

Equivalent fractions are those that have the same value when reduced to their simplest form.

The following fractions can all be reduced to the same fraction:

\(\frac{1}{2} = \frac{2}{4} = \frac{16}{32} = \frac{8}{16}\).

They are called equivalent fractions.
