The author’s argument doesn’t mean that it invokes anger or defensiveness in every reader. In fact, you may find that you agree with an author’s argument. The argument aspect comes from the fact that not everyone will agree with the claim or statement made by the author. This is why an effective argument includes evidence and support for the claim so that even those who disagree with the author may be convinced to see things from a different perspective.
