Remember that the setting is more than just location. Sometimes the time in which a story takes place is just as important as the location. Not all stories are set in a particular time, but look for time period clues as they may provide a different perspective on the story. For example, a story set in Germany in 1940 is going to be very different from a story set in Germany in 2017.
