kinesthetic awareness
Explanation:
Kinesthetic awareness is what allows us to move through our environment without looking at our feet or watching our arms. Kinesthetic awareness needs to be developed in dancers. Working in front of a full-length mirror can help develop a better understanding of body positions.
Poor kinesthetic awareness is apparent when a dancer:
- looks at their feet while dancing
- watches their arms, hands, etc., while dancing
- displays their arms, legs, or body (trunk) out of position
