presentation

Explanation:

Art is not viewed in a vacuum. Things to consider about presentation when displaying paintings and 3D objects vary.

For flat art, considerations include:

  • whether it is framed or not
  • the kind of frame (fancy, plain, color, gilded)
  • the height of art from the ground
  • lighting (from the top, front, or back; natural or artificial light)

For three-dimensional art, considerations include how it is displayed:

  • on a plinth (a base used for displaying 3D art)
  • in a cabinet
  • mounted to the wall
  • suspended from the ceiling
  • with lighting
