Flashcard 7 - Cardiovascular Flashcard Set for the CCRN

Back

four to six

Explanation:

For a diagnostic cardiac catheterization, a patient must remain on strict bed rest and lie flat with a head elevation no greater than 30 degrees for four to six hours. This downtime for patients is likely to be six hours after an interventional cardiac catheterization. Note that the time requirement is dependent on the access site, closure device, and facility protocol.
