Probability is the likelihood or chance that a particular event will occur. It is generally defined as the number of ways a desired event can happen divided by the total number of possible outcomes.
For instance, the number of ways that a coin tossed in the air will land as HEADS (H) is 1 because only 1 face of the coin has H, but there are 2 possible outcomes - either HEADS or TAILS.
Therefore, the Probability \(P = \frac{1}{2}\).
