Area: the measurement of interior surface of a two-dimensional shape.

Volume: the space occupied by a three-dimensional object.

Perimeter measures the linear distance around a plane shape and is given in linear units, such as meters, centimeters, inches and feet.
Area measures the interior surface of a plane shape and is given in square units (units²), such as square meters, square centimeters, square inches and square feet.
Volume measures capacity of space occupied by a solid and is given in cubic units (units³), such as cubic meters, cubic centimeters, cubic inches and cubic feet.
