Every patient will react differently to stressors. Some may have only one type of reaction while others may have all three. Examples of physical reactions are GI ulcerations, palpitations, and adrenal enlargement. Psychological responses can include anxiety, mood swings, and depression. Cognitive responses may manifest as the inability to make decisions and process information about their situation and environment.
