Explanation:
Clarification is one of four therapeutic responses. The other three are silence, reflecting, and using leads. Specifically, clarification allows the patient to ensure that his or her message is being heard correctly and understood. It also ensures that the nurse is not inserting any bias or assumptions into what the patient is communicating.
