non-modifiable
Explanation:
Non-modifiable risk factors should be discussed with the patient as such and presented as something that one may have some degree of control over via awareness and implementation of certain behaviors and actions. For example, a patient’s age, gender, and race may all be non-modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but with that knowledge, the patient may choose lifestyle modifications, self-care, and screening strategies that help detect a problem earlier rather than later.
