the proliferative and granulation phase
Explanation:
There are four phases of wound healing:
- the homeostasis phase (vasoconstriction, thrombin formation, platelet formation, and fibrin mesh formation)
- the inflammation phase/lag or exudative phase (pain, swelling, edema, phagocytosis of wound debris for infection prevention)
- the proliferative and granulation phase
- the maturation phase (continued development and maturation of the skin over the wound, which may last up to 2 years)
