Therapeutic effects are the intended or desired effect(s). Side effects are any other effect aside from the expected or intended medication effect(s); some may be serious while some are just an aggravation to the patient. Adverse reactions are serious side effects that may be life-threatening (anaphylaxis). Interactions may occur between prescribed medication(s) and/or OTC preparations; interactions may alter the biological effect of a drug by either increasing or decreasing its potential effect.
