opioid antagonists

Opioid antagonists are drugs that counter or antagonize the effect of opioid medications such as oxycodone, percocet, Demerol, and Dilaudid, etc. They are usually given in the clinical setting of an acute opioid overdose or as part of an opioid-dependency treatment program.
