quality improvement
The exact definition of “quality” will differ from institution to institution, but, in general, it refers to meeting/exceeding the patient’s expectations, meeting/exceeding the standards of care, and achieving all planned outcomes for patients. Total quality management (TQM), continuous quality improvement (CQI), benchmarks, and evidence-based decision making are just a few of the methods that may be involved in an institution’s quality improvement program.
