Inspection includes purposeful observation and vitals. Palpation is using both fingertips and palms to feel internal structures for function and abnormalities. Percussion can tell you about the levels of air and fluid in a specific organ or a body cavity. Auscultation is the use of a stethoscope to listen for the movement of air and fluid within the body.
