A matching details question will require test takers to find the correct statement, and an “except” question will require test takers to find the false statement.

These two types of questions are exact opposites, so it is important to carefully read the question to ensure you are answering the correct way. A matching details question will list all false statements with one statement that is true and found in the passage. An “except” question will list all true statements except for one false statement not found in the passage.
