reversed (or flipped)

When you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, the direction of the inequality symbol must be reversed. This is because multiplying or dividing by a negative number flips the relative values of the numbers, which changes the truth of the inequality.

For example, if you have \(-2x > 4\), and you divide both sides by \(-2\), the inequality becomes \(x < -2\) after reversing the symbol.
