Explanation:

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like high-dose aspirin and ibuprofen reduce inflammation and treat pain. If they are ineffective after two weeks, then colchicine or prednisone may be used to treat pericarditis instead.
