The author makes the assumption that increased supervision over the Apogee Company employees will help to increase they’re profits, but employee satisfaction should be considered in this assumption. Many employees may resent the extra supervision, causing their motivation and job performence to suffer. Other employees may leave the company altogether, especially if they are forced to move to a location further from their home, forcing Apogee to spend money interviewing and training new employees. The author makes no mention of how the employees feel about closing the field offices, even though its a matter which could ultimately effect profit margins.
