sudo apt-get upgrade

The command requires administrative permission to run, so from the command line, enter sudo apt-get upgrade. Before doing an upgrade, it’s a good idea to update the system first with the sudo apt-get update command. Be sure you understand the significance of the sudo command used in many Linux releases.
