Ways You Can Help Support a Military Family

We all want to support the troops that help keep our country safe, and one of the best ways to do that is to help support their family at home. Here are some simple ways you can make the lives of military family easier- no military experience required!

Offer to babysit

When a soldier is away, the spouse or partner at home is functioning as a single parent. Offering them a few hours away will give them a chance to de-stress and get in some much-needed “me” time.

Send a card

You might struggle to find the right words in person, but sending a card is a great way to thoughtfully remind a military family you are thinking of them and are there if you are needed.

Do yard work

When a soldier is deployed, their share of the housework is shouldered by the people left at home. Offer to cut the grass, plow the driveway, or rake the leaves- any way you can pitch in will likely be appreciated!

Invite them over

Spouses and partners at home get lonely just like anyone else, so don’t forget to include them in your church functions, holiday parties, and game nights.
